Unser Bio-Ceylon-Zimt stammt aus kontrolliert biologischem Anbau in Sri Lanka, der traditionellen Heimat des echten Ceylon-Zimts. Für die Herstellung wird die zarte Innenrinde junger Zimttriebe sorgfältig von Hand gelöst, schonend getrocknet und anschliessend zu einem feinen, hellbraunen Pulver vermahlen.
Ceylon-Zimt zeichnet sich durch sein besonders feines, mildes und weniger scharfes Aroma aus. Er eignet sich hervorragend für Kuchen, Gebäck, Porridge, Müesli, Joghurt, Desserts und Obstkompott. Auch Tee, Chai, Punsch und andere Heissgetränke lassen sich damit aromatisch verfeinern.
Dank seines dezenten, süsslich-würzigen Geschmacks kann Ceylon-Zimt auch in herzhaften Speisen wie Currys, Chutneys und fruchtigen Saucen eingesetzt werden. Besonders gut harmoniert er mit Vanille, Kakao, Früchten und Nüssen.
