Our organic kasha consists of hulled buckwheat groats that are roasted in a rotating drum. Afterwards, the groats are cooled and cleaned of any remaining husks and dust. The roasting process gives kasha its natural beige-brown color, its typical nutty taste, and a pleasantly firm texture.
Kasha can be prepared similarly to rice and served as a warm side dish. It is also suitable for soups, stews, salads, bowls, vegetable stir-fries, stuffings, and savory patties.
Roasted buckwheat is also versatile enough for warm breakfast porridges and other creative vegetarian or vegan dishes. Due to its intense roasted aroma, it is a flavorful alternative to untoasted buckwheat and other classic side dishes.
